Dual US-Taiwan nationals

Taiwan generally permits dual nationality. Present your US passport at entry. No issues are typically encountered for US-Taiwan dual citizens entering Taiwan on a US passport.

Business travel

Visa-free entry covers tourism and short business meetings. Work or employment in Taiwan requires an Alien Resident Certificate (ARC) and work permit obtained in advance.

Relationship to mainland China entry

Visiting Taiwan does not affect your eligibility for China's visa-free policy and is tracked separately. The two destinations have no shared immigration records for entry purposes.

Extending your stay

Extensions beyond 90 days require application at a local National Immigration Agency office in Taiwan before your authorized stay expires.
